El porro-bag de Louis Vuitton // Louis Vuitton's joint-bag

(English Version at the end)

¿Qué os parece?
Bonito…

HUELE A PORRO.

Tal cual.
A porro.

-English Version-

What do you think? Nice, uh?
I fell in love with the bag too, but our relationship was short and ended up pretty badly. As bad as my image of the brand...

Imagine the situation: As a woman passionate about fashion, I’ve always wanted to own a Louis Vuitton shopping bag, so I had been saving for a while to finally buy it (I could tell you about how that went, with problems both in the waiting list and the web, but I would have to write a whole other post about it… A very bad shopping experience indeed). After an authentic gymkana between different stores, I manage to buy it and take it home (engraved with my initials and everything), and live happily ever after until I discovered – surprise, surprise – IT SMELLS LIKE WEED.

Really.
Like weed, like a joint.

What the f**k… but seriously, it did smell of weed, and that’s what my colleagues at work and my friends can confirm.

So I went to LV’s flagship store in Serrano and, dying of shame, try to explain to them what’s going on. I will never forget the look of offense the shopping assistant gave me as I was telling my story; he looked at me as if I had insulted his mother. But I had done nothing like such, I had just told him the truth: that my expensive LV handbag smelled like weed. They didn’t believe the story at the beginning, but after I insisted, they ended up keeping the bag to analyze it, not before repeatedly smelling the bag at the store which, surprisingly, smelled like a joint.

After several days with no news, and after I insisted again about what was going on, they decided to bring from Paris another handbag… which smelled, too. And then they brought another one, which smelled even worse.

I’m very surprised they even considered I was going to keep any of those bags with the slightest posibility they could smell to anything different from leather, but imagine, they did. I was amazed when they told me to chose one, I still am… that’s what got me writing this post.

So I kept complaining, and guess what they offered me: a voucher for the bag. A voucher!!!! That’s when I lost it… are these the manners of the luxury good market? It looks like it is in the case of Louis Vuitton.

Best part is, they told me that smell is expectable of the type of leather because of the dye they use (something I’ve recently discovered is a lie, both by asking around friends and other shopping assistants from different stores)…

So… yeah. Cool, right? You think it’s normal that a 1500€ bag can smell of weed? And is it acceptable to sell it? Do all epi-leather handbags around the world smell alike? Really?? And I have to be the one, with my savings, to discover it and receive a “sorry” and pretty much nothing else in return?

A-mazing.

So after being part of this absurd situation, I’ve decided not to stay quite and keep complaining. As I said, I’ve obtained a nice set of apologies and my money back, but nothing else. I’m absolutely convinced that this has gone this way because I’m Inés Cruz, a normal person who has to save to buy the bag I dreamt of. I’m sure that if I had been a famous blogger or a celebrity, this would have gone a totally different way. What was I expecting? I have a very clear idea, especially after studying an MBA on Fashion Companies that took me to the Maison Vuitton in Paris, where I began dreaming of owning one of these bags… what an absolute fiasco. I will definitely take by money somewhere else, directly to the competition, where I know for a fact they treat you better and are willing to convince me the experience of shopping with them is as valuable as the product they’re offering.

Take your money elsewhere! #ShameonLV

Me parece increíble Inés!
